Jason's birthday and Mother's Day
This year they fell on the same day. We were both exhausted from moving and hadn't planned much of anything for each other. So we called a truce...to each not get the other anything. Jason revived a few sweet cards from family and I did too. We just had a lazy day at home.

Ponytail!
Yesterday Shelby wadded her hair into a matted mess and the arranged it atop her head. She ran to the mirror o look at herself then turned to me and said, "Mom! My hair's pretty!" She continued to repeat it until I responded, "Yes, Shelby. It's very pretty!"
Haha! She then informed me that it was a ponytail.
Maybe she'll be a hair dresser I the fashionistas! ;)

The day before Memorial Day
On Sunday we went over to the Duffet's for a BBQ. We had hamburgers, corn on the cob, taco salad, grilled asparagus....so much good food! We also made strawberry daquiris!
Marty and Jody have 5 kids. 3 of which are close to Shelby's age. They had a blast playing together! They ran all over the place!
Later in the evening Shawn, their oldest son who's 16, built a fire outside. We made smores and sat around talking for hours while the kids played in the swing set and jumped on the trampoline.
It made for a very relaxing and fun day!

Pretend
Shelby was playing doctor with me today. She covered my head and shoulders in clothes saying he was helping my boo boos.
The cutest part was when she took a notepad and a pen that was closed and the pretend wrote down all this stuff all while jabbering away about this and that.

Here's a pic of Shelby wearing my winter hat sideways. I like to think she dresses herself "eclectically". ;)
She's started just this week putting her hands on her hips. It's super cute! Now I'm wondering if I do it a lot??? Is she imitating me?
She's also been crossing her legs a lot lately when she's sitting or laying on her princess fold out couch.
